November 2011

(...last month we were...)

Reading: Here's a great article: http://www.silverbearcafe.com/private/10.11/hippies.html

Watching: 10-24-11: Happy 10 year anniversary to Mike and Tony on PTI; it's one of the best shows, ever!..Beavis and Buttplug are back--I'll check it out (it was good)...

Class Projects: She watched one "An American Horror Story" with me! Oregon Art Beat, Daily Show,

movies together: most of "TRON Legacy",

Shit I watch alone: I barely watch anything with her--it's all pretty much alone for me...

Comedians: Michael Ian Black "Very Famous",

Crappy cable movies: "A Perfect Getaway",

Play it Again's:

Watching and Hearing: Yes; (a short rant) my Fig Dish shirt is 3 bands ago. Blake + Mike moved from Fig Dish, on to Caviar, and then (along with Scott Lucas of Local H) formed The Prairie Cartel after 2005. They (Prairie Cartel) play electronica music--these guys are talented enough to be playing the BEST electronica music, ever. It's good; good enough to be all over the Grand Theft Auto game, but, it's weak overall. I'm sorry guys; you had 2 "A-grade" bands, but now you're just doing average, "C-grade" techno-crap. You're MUCH better than just treading water over there in "Moby-land" (go listen to some more Crystal Method)...Real, live, watching + hearing; Keith Olbermann interviewed Tom Morello(!) about OWS on Countdown; and then Keith was on Letterman again 10-24-11, with Dave + Perry/Jane's Addiction (!), and Salma Hayek (hello nurse!)...MOVIES at The Location! We have watched Maximum Overdrive, Phantasm, and a Puppet Master movie so far!

You Tubing! Adding to my arsenal of songs; add Filter/Crystal Method's "Can't You Trip Like I Do" and Stabbing Westward/Crystal Method's "Save Yourself". See? I KNOW how electronica should sound!..Hey; what is this NIN cover of U2's "Zoo Station" (A U2 tribute CD? I want one!)...NIN's "Deep"; that's not on any album, huh?..New Evanescence "Erase This"...I'm not a MIX DJ; but if I was, I would layer Stabbing Westward's "Save Yourself" over C + C Music's "Gonna Make You Sweat"--because I'm a fucking genius at matching nearly identical basslines (you're welcome)...

Hearing: ELO's "Burning Bright", Rush "Signals", + Zep's 'Graffiti'

New on the radio; I used to love it. I sit in lots of silence now...New Jane's Addiction is okay--20 years late, but okay...New Cake? I heard something new behind John McCrea's voice on 10-14-11; whatever. We all like Cake--bring it!

Musical Purchases this month from the Tom Tucker discount wall at Skip's Records And CDWorld; my future place of employment, and permanent Barbie Dream Home: Stuff! As part of my latest birthday, my yummy girlfriend bought me 3 new CD's! The new Evanescence, the new Bush "The Sea Of Memories", and the new-ish (2010) Peter Gabriel "New Blood" (with the full orchestra)! On this lovely walk, also I bought 3 "F"'s (from said Tom Tucker discount wall): "Frampton Come Alive", "Skin And Bones" Foo Fighters, and "When Shove Goes Back To Push" Fig Dish--nice!..They should hire me there, you know?

Out and About: took a working boom box to The Location and played Rush, ELO and Zeppelin...

Singing: "Blue Moon"--Sha Na Na(?), "Pretty Never Hurts"--Fig Dish, "Poundcake"--Van Hagar, "Godzilla"--BOC, "Stay With Me"--Rod Stewart, 'Black Parade'--My Chemical Romance,

What I want today:

New stuff this month or so: Right winger Milan Hejduk is the Colorado Avalanche calender boy...10-1-11; first cold day of the year; sweat pants and socks, baby!..Go shove a McRib up your ass--for a limited time...It's not 1 mouse in the house, but (at least) 2! They do gymnastics in my closet, and shit everywhere. I don't want to kill them, but I would like to cage them. So we'll be getting big totes to hide our pantry food in...Ha ha ha. State Farm thinks they are going to INCREASE my insurance rates. Just wait 'til I pay them a little visit...We started cleaning out the kitchen pantry of all the mice shit on 10-30-11; it's a big mess! Mice need to relocate--I don't think my girlfriend understands...

This Month of bargain-shopping (Dollar Tree, Cash King, Big Lots, etc.): hand sanitizer, tp + paper towels for The Location...

Occupational Hazards: The news is huge! I WILL be employed in the the next 12 months, maybe as soon as 6 months, and I know where. I just don't know as "what" yet. Is that confusing? It is meant to be...

Personal shit for my own memory banks this month: Last month; the kitchen CD player was wrecked by the little mouse; I found the mouse in there one afternoon. He must've scratched the laser. It still plays radio, and maybe cassettes, but no CD's...The urban mini-triathalons lasted 1 week...I am taking time off from comedy. It was fun, and it helped me get through rehab. But I am not as dedicated to it as most of the others are, and the comedy scene in Eugene is (again) changing rapidly (2 open mic.'s have shut down). I still write down/think crazy thoughts, it's just not so important now...It's October (now), and I haven't put up a commentary since January? We'll be fixing that this month...10-4-11; Boo the guinea pig passed away. She had a great life!..10-8 thru 10-10; I am taking 3 days OFF of exercise. I'm going to let my body 'settle' for a couple of days (as explained to me by a physical trainer), and then come back and rock it with power walks and core circuits. We'll see...Wearing (my new) 33 inch waist jeans is (very tight in the crotch--ow) kind of odd; all my other jeans are 36's--hence my belt problems. I will need some new 34 inch waist pants--hello Goodwill!..10-12-11; Gus got his motor hutch pulled off; we tried to adjust his idle. No chance. But we replaced a vacuum hose and gave him a new air filter--he likes that! Also; tires full of air, and the best gas treatment at Fred Meyer. Go Gus!..The poker drama continues; complaints filed by me--and against me at the O/T (10-16), and I continue to do well. Wow...Also on 10-16, I am now helping a friend move some product. This should be fun...10-24-11; got another tooth pulled at my (food stamp) Whitebird clinic. Ow. And this one does kinda hurt. It's still bleeding on day 2, which means that I was swallowing blood all night, while asleep--yum...10-27-11; now my lower left jaw (under the newly removed tooth) is aching like death. I have come off of bedrest a day or 2 early to clean up mouse shit, and get back in to the swing of things...Yeah, baby! 10-28-11; back to the exercise walks. I got whistled at again; hopefully by a girl this time...10-29-11; my mouth/jaw hurts, and there's not much to do about it. Oh well...

Pinball and Golden Tee stuff: Hi. First off; I still like Golden Tee. But Golden Tee came into my life (as an expensive replacement) to fill the void of not having pinball machines. Now we have pinball back; deal with it...Expansion at The Location: imagine a room with 14 pinball machines in it...After 2 weeks of pinball league (10-7-11), my record is 8 Wins + 7 Losses (trust me--I'll get better)...Now; try not to wet your pants (too late), but Dylan COULD be moving a Twilight Zone pinball into The Location. Banzai Run is also an option, or Firepower (It's in the boneyard!), or Eight Ball Deluxe. Videos? Defender could be in transit this month. Jeezus. Okay; I need new underwear...10-10-11; Old high score on Pool Sharks pinball was 15 million. I put up 25 million WHILE PLAYING the guy (ALF) who had the 15 mil; ha!..10-12-11; big day! Won my own poker game, then went to The Location to: turn Flash pinball over (again), also turned Card Whiz over (3 people have done it now), + bumped up my Pool Sharks pinball high score up to 26 mil...10-14-11, pinball league: I won 9 of 12 games in competition. My record is now 17 Wins + 10 Losses...10-15-11; big night (I took my boom box to the arcade to hear the Rush, Zep, and ELO): The current best on Eight Ball pinball in the new room is now my 819K; then I put up 65,150 (new #9 World Record) on Pole Position, finished in 222"78. Then at 1:30 am, I also bumped up my old high score on Flash Gordon pinball to 6,137,460. All 3 have witnesses...(World Cup '94 pinball is currently gone, and) Star Trek TNG pinball is back out on the floor--I still have Star Trek's 1.6 bil. high score...I am no longer the Champ on Whirlwind pinball (at 41 mil); DLD has been putting in lots of time on it, and has 74 mil now...10-21-11 pinball league; I only played 6 games (won all 6), so my record is 23W and 10L now. I am UNclearly in 2nd place (behind Hayden), again! Steve scored 820K on Eight Ball pinball; so he now has the new room record. I also bumped up my own Flash Gordon pinball high score (gee, imagine) to 6.7 mil. Dylan assures us that Twilight Zone pinball is coming soon, and so is a Defender video game. Yum!..10-22-11; The Flash pinball playfield was replaced--so it's like a new game, with a new high score of 890K. I put up 995,440--just to show it who's boss...More expansion at The Location! Growing, changing, expanding, and set to become something to fully commit to! Just wait...There will be a $40 pinball tournament in Portland on 11-6-11, and I want to go. Dammit...10-26-11; after 3 days away from The Location, I was back. Now they're calling me the “Pit Bull” of pinball. Does Bobby Slayton have a copyright on that name?..My first purchase of anything with my new debit card was to sign up for the "Cascadia Cup" pinball tournament in Portland on 11-6-11...The Location has added a Joust, Xevious, and an old baseball pitch/hit game. 10-28-11 pinball league; I only played 3 games, but won all 3. My record is 26W and 10L now. Hayden turned over Flash and beat my old high score (with 1.156 mil). So I then re-turned over Flash and took the high score back (with 1.200 mil)...10-30-11; won my own poker tournament, which is good, because I'm going to Portland for pinball next weekend!

Grammar: Isn't it funny how easy it is to find errors in this world?..

New foods this month: 10-7-11; first Pizza Friday without Boo; bummer...10-14-11; Pizza Friday became Go Healthy Friday; plus I also bought us booze and chocolate...10-21-11; Pizza Friday became Cornbread Cafe Friday, as we dropped her car off for some brake work; amazing food, and we will have to do research on this 'tapioca' vegan cheese!..I also had my first "Red 5" hotdog. Friends of Ninkasi brewing and The Location arcade, Jeff's Red 5 all-Oregon dogs are fantastic!..I made pickled carrots; soaked for a week. They were tasty!..Have I mentioned this Fred Meyer (Kroger) vitamin enhanced water beverage? The flavor I love is "Black and Blueberry"...10-28-11; can we have another pizza Friday with the dark rye flour, please? Yes! Was it good pizza? Between dinner, late night, breakfast, and lunch, the entire pizza was gone in 18 hours--yeah, I'd say that was a pretty good, Static-Girl-approved pizza! Thank you...

This month of Blues Jamming: 10-6-11 Blues Jam started late because of the football game (2 sets). Set 1 was Z-Bass, Ra on 1 guitar, JP on keys, Jimmy D Drums. Set 2 was T-Mart on bass, Kyle + Jay on guitars, Lenny P drums, JP came in late to help sing. Set 3 almost happened, But Z freaked when he saw Ra playing bass. Done at midnight; no Max, and no Axel (although both were there)...10-13-11, MY FCP's Birthday Blues Jam! Set 1 (I missed) was Z-Bass, Ri + Ra guitars, JP, Jimmy D drums. 2 was (Common Ground's) Doug on bass, Ro + Ra on guitars, Scotty B harp, JP keys, Lenny P drums. 3 was Z-Bass, Ro + Ri + JP on 3 guitars (for 2 songs), Cheeseburger Clark drums. 4 was Z-Bass, Ri + Ra guitars, JP, and Ron drums; 'Enema Party' AND 'Teenage Pussy From Outer Space'. Nice...10-20-11; set 1 (I missed) was Z-Bass, Ri + Ra on guitars, Mark the Harp, JP, + Jimmy D drums. Set 2 was T-Mart, Ri + Ra on guitars, JP also played guitar, Rusty on keys, Brian drums, James on bongos. 3 was Ben on bass, another Ben on drums, Josh Waldecker (!) + Jay on guitars, James bongos. 4 was T-Mart bass, Max + Jay on guitars, JP, Lenny P drums...10-27-11; Tooth Extracted Blues Jam! Mike + Kristi showed. I drank Ninkasi IPA all night (I'll be a Ninkasi customer from here on), although I wasn't supposed to drink. Oops. Late start due to some baseball game thing. Set 1 was Z-Bass, Ri + Ra guitars, Mark the Harp, JP, and Axel drums (Axel drums all night, did great, and did not complain). Val sang a couple. 2 was Russ bass, Ro + Ra on guitars, lots of empty space, and Axel drums. Then Mark blew the house down with Stormy Monday. Then Val and JP came back, too. Nice. Set 3 was where they cut loose; Z-Bass, Ra + Ro again, JP on keys and guitar, Axel drums. Good Good Music, Teenage Pussy, + Enema Party--I yelled a lot...

My trials and trib.s as a critical believer in the concept of God: God wants me to go to the 11-6-11 pinball tourney in Portland.

What's different here than in college town: (Portland) When "Occupy Wall Street" protesters took over two parks in Portland's soggy downtown, they pitched 300 tents and offered free food, medical care and shelter to anyone (especially the homeless)...Livibility.com (whatever that is) voted downtown Eugene as a top 10 downtown in America...The homeless guy with the laptop I know also owns a cell phone. Nobody even NEEDS the radio anymore, for anything!..So I saw/talked to this college guy here; he head Grateful Dead dreadlocks, military cargo camo pants, and a sweet black silk shirt. That's quite the confused ensemble, but it works here!

What's different here than dumbass Arizona: Well, there ain't no dust storms killing people up here...

How Does Your Garden Grow? (Tales from our community garden plot): Early frost makes for problematic harvesting...

Life with Static Girl: She is easily amused--thank goodnes!..My poor girlfriend got sick around 10-20-11. She's still working, and carrying on though...By 10-26, she is back at full strength...This just in; I Like Her!

My FCP has this for me: She's happy with my pinball prowess!..

Comments From The Peanut Gallery: Other than Wall Street protests, a big concern in the news is about an electromagnetic pulse wrecking our way of life--like my "Dark Angel" Commentary from 2006...Record-High 50% of Americans Favor Legalizing Marijuana Use...57% of Americans agree with the Wall Street protests...

A thought to take with you: "I'll get the shovel. You get the bleach."--from the 10-13-11 (?) episode of American Horror Story (my new favorite show)

"Have A Drink. Get Stoned. Fuck A Stranger. Eat A Twinkie. You're Going To Die Anyway."--A Facebook post by legendary comedian Ron Shock, and available on shirts/mugs etc. at ronshock.com

My idea of a party is "How far away from my biological family can we smoke as much pot as possible and still make it home before the sun rises?" Most people aren't as into that as I'd like.--Patrick Thomas Perkins (Facebook comic/friend)

"Real eyes realize real lies."--another Facebook quote

Band names: "Masterpiece in Progress" (my description of The Location), "Damaged Goods", "Dead Nerve" (my lower back left tooth),

December 2011

(...last month we were...)

Reading: Here's a good one--for all the NON-conspiracy buffs: 11 shocking things you now realize to be true (but you never would have believed just three years ago) ...You should make "http://www.naturalnews.com/" a regular check-in place anyway!..Did you like that? Want another one? Here ya go: 22 Signs That the Thin Veneer Of Civilization That We All Take For Granted Is Starting To Disappear. Yes; The Intel Hub is another good news site. The world is crumbling around you, by the way...Try this one on for sighs: It can't happen here

Watching: I don't watch as much tv now--good for me.

Class Projects: She watched a couple of the Halloween catch-up episodes of American Horror Story; it's just weird enough to hold her attention (yes!)...Oregon Art Beat, House, Castle, Bones (is dumb now, because she's pregnant, so we may quit watching),

movies together: zero

Shit I watch alone: "American Horror Story" went limp in the part 2 on 11-2-11. I am very disappointed, and it is no longer my favorite show. So my favorite show right now is (of course) Robot Chicken...

Comedians: Chelsea Peretti, Brian Posehn

Crappy cable movies: A Nameless cool guy burned me a copy of "Horrible Bosses". (I do LOVE me some Jennifer Anniston)..."The Disappearance Of Alice Creed", "Simon Sez",

Play it Again's: nothing

Watching and Hearing: Soul Coughing in the 11-7-11 Castle (I nailed it in 3 notes--ask Static Girl)...AC/DC in the new MW3 commercial, ELO in the new Bud 55 commercial,

Movies at The Location: Back To The Future,

You Tubing: My YouTubing is getting predictable! Add 2 new U2 covers; NIN's 'Zoo Station', and Garbage' 'Wild Horses'...So the total (12) now is just SPASTIC, but worthy of note: Panic Switch--Silversun Pickups, Swing Swing + Another Heart Calls--All American Rejects, Sweetness--Jimmy Eat World, Can't You Trip Like I Do--Filter/Crystal Method, Save Yourself--Stabbing Westward, (Welcome To The) Black Parade--My Chemical Romance, Savior--Rise Against, Sad Man's Tongue--Volbeat, Deep + Zoo Station--NIN, Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses--Garbage. All of these are great for playing Facebook's Zynga poker!..

Hearing: Between Youtube's and Volbeat, there's just not much time left...

New on the radio; Lou Reed/Metallica? Okay then...A new Disturbed "B-Sides" CD; nice...Black Sabbath is doing a 2012 tour wiith the original line-up. Scary...Head Pumpkin Billy Corgan is starting a wrestling company; stay tuned for Andy Kaufman references...

Musical Purchases this month from the Tom Tucker discount wall at Skip's Records And CDWorld; my future place of employment, and permanent Barbie Dream Home:

Out and About: A Weezer tribute compilation, and Dark Side of the Moon at Portland's C-Bar...Obscure Zeppelin at Go Healthy Cafe (Pandora), Styx at Fred Meyer, John Cougar at my new liquor store,

Singing: "Rock On"--David Essex, "Super Bon Bon"--Soul Coughing (thanks Castle), "The Thin Ice"--Pink Floyd, "Song 2"--Blur, "Girlfriend"--Matthew Sweet, "Unchained"--Van Halen,

What I want today: I would like to see some more chaos.

New stuff this month or so: Center Peter Mueller is the Colorado Avalanche calender boy...7 BILLION people on this planet? I cannot believe you stupid fucks have let this happen. Bring on the asteroid that wipes out this bad idea that was humanity (it missed)...11-11-11; Rick Perry is currently dissolving in front of our eyes--it's kind of cool to watch..."Positive Ink" is the name of the new tattoo place in our heighborhood; it opened this month...A new disease "diabesity" hits 50% of all people; great...11-17-11; according to my girlfriend, our house is a Disaster Area (thanks mice)...Occupy Deez Nuts!..As of 11-19-11, the top 3 college football teams are SEC west teams. Ha! UGA is #1 in the east--go Dawgs!..

This Month of bargain-shopping (Dollar Tree, Cash King, Big Lots, etc.): Rain Forest incense at Cash King, candles at Dollar Tree...

Occupational Hazards: After the sickness/stupidity, I took 6 days off from the arcade. Maybe I'll go back on 11-16-11--I haven't decided...

Personal shit for my own memory banks this month: Playing pinball in Eugene on 11-4-11 (started 9-3, finished 10-5 to Gen), and in Portland on 11-6-11 reminded me that I do not commit to things as much as I need to; I should ACT--instead of just RESPOND. You can't just 'show up' (in Portland), and then expect to dominate. I'm learning, and will get much better...11-5-11; I did my exercise walk in full rainsuit gear; nice...The 15 lb. hand weights used to be really heavy. Now they're just standard; nice...Ninkasi guys gave me a big 4-pack of their cool craft beers. Yum!..11-9-11; I finally topped $3 million in fake Zynga poker chips...11-10-11; I just read about osteoarthritis--who DOESN'T have that?..Later on 11-10-11; I finally got sick, then almost got in 2 fights at the arcade (see below), then sick boy had to come home--and miss the "Brian C./Darcy Lee" Blues Jam (boo)...11-12; How can I be sick, still with a huge appetite, and gaining weight (3 lbs. so far)? It makes no sense...11-13-11; BIG $50 poker game. I lasted 12 minutes; oops...11-18-11; back to power-walking! I ache all over, and it's great!..11-20-11; another power walk in full rainsuit gear; then we had a massive poker meltdown at the tournament today; people have stopped respecting me, and I will fix that...11-27-11; won my own poker tournament--after having been down to only 4 chips ($120). I fixed the poker problems!..11-28-11; back to the dentist for a semi-cleaning. Call it good pain...11-29-11; 2 poker games tonight. I won $50 in the 2nd one...Did I put up my 2 DUII commentaries yet? You're welcome...

Pinball and Golden Tee stuff: 11-2-11; my 1.5 mil is not enough for the high score on Flash pinball anymore (my high score is 1.9 mil)...11-4-11 pinball league; I went 10W + 5L, so my overall is 36W + 15L, 2nd place...Cascadia Cup Tournament in Portland on 11-6-11: I did not qualify for the top 12 spots (boo). Of the 5 Eugene people I came in 3rd...11-7-11; first night back at The Location--turned over Flash pinball, turned over Eight Ball pinball, 600K on Strikes + Spares pinball; I'm on fire now...11-10-11; as I was getting sick this night, some gay teenage boy was walking around the arcade with a purse--full of BONG WATER. I am NOT making this up. He spilled it all over a game, a chair, and the floor--and then he ran away and denied it! I did NOT kill/beat/or kick him out; neither him, nor the other idiot who brought Mr. Bongpurse there. You're all welcome. Next time; there will be blood. CAB; are you listening? Next time--THERE WILL BE BLOOD!..The new high score on Eight Ball pinball is my 1.224 mil,; still on the 4th ball when the game was run out by Cale + Gavin...11-18-11 pinball league; I won 7 of 9 baby, call me Jeri Ryan! (43W + 17L overall)...11-25-11 pinball league; played only 2 games, split with Gavin. He won Grand Lizard, I won Whirlwind with my new personal best of 58,812,340 (#2 on the game). 4 of my 6 plunger shots tonight drained in less than 5 seconds; 1 + 2 on GL, 1 + 3 on WW (weird way to be 44W + 18L overall). And; I am the 1st person (in Eugene, Oregon) at The Location to break 65K on Pole Position twice; 65,100 tonight; 222"33...11-30-11; no Quacker's poker tournament tonight; to the arcade! Radical pinball is in The Location; the new high score is my 19,212,640...

Grammar: I read a Facebook post from a good comedian who accidentally used "weird" when he meant to use "word". Man; that was freakin' word..."Then" and "than", people! How hard is this? Thenk you very much...

New foods this month: 11-2-11 became "Hallowizza Wednesday"; black olive/carrot pizza with the new Daiya cheese--excellent!..Why a Pizza Wednesday? Because Friday 11-4-11 became a Cornbread Cafe lunch (to go) with my girlfriend. Nice, and she loves Cornbread Cafe...Thanksgiving from Cornbread Cafe? Check back...11-11-11, Pizza Friday! I got sick last night, which sucks, but oh well--it's still Pizza Friday. And I made the best pizza ever! The new Evanescence is great cooking music! Evanexcellent, even!..Right now I like the Bull's Eye Kansas City b-b-q sauce. And I mix some Blair's Death firewater into it; so it starts sweet, then finishes with a sting. Nice...11-18-11; Pizza Friday, maybe the best crust ever!..11-21-11; with the excellent rice-cooker, ALL of my rice dishes can be redone; so my brown rice/brown sauce was great!..11-23-11; Thanksgiving Quinoa Stewp; and it was fantastic!..Had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with people who wish to remain anonymous (because they're smart), and I am very thankful...

This month of Blues Jamming: 11-3-11; 29th Anniversary of My Death Blues Jam: set 1 (I missed) Z-Bass, Ri + Ra guitars, Mark the Harp, JP, Jimmy D drums. Set 2 was T-Mart bass, Ri + Ra again, JP, Lenny P drums. 3 was Z-Bass, Jay + Ra guitars, Jimmy D drums (Enema Party + Teenage Pussy). 4 was T-Mart, Jay + Ra + Ri on 3 guitars, JP, Jimmy D drums...11-10-11 Blues jam, supposedly with Brian C. + Darcy Lee. I got sick and missed it...Bad idea? Yes; I should NOT have gone to Blues Jam 11-17-11. But I did. Okay. Missed set 1--your problem. 2 was Z-Bass, Ra on 1 guitar, JP keys, Lenny P drums. 3 was Z-Bass, Jay + Nick (newbie) guitars, Nathan (also newbie, both are in high skool) keys, Axel drums. 4 was BIG; Z-Bass, Max, Ra + Tommy on 3 guitars, JP keys, Jimmy D drums...

My trials and trib.s as a critical believer in the concept of God:

What's different here than in college town: In less than a year, the University of Oregon will go completely tobacco free...Back in Athens, world-famous "Allen's" in Normaltown has closed. Booo (they used to have Dr. Dude pinball)...Here in Oregon, the U of O is firing their President, for 'not being a team player'...

What's different here than dumbass Arizona: Near Portland there is a creek named "Little Muddy Creek"; nice (ain't no creeks in Phoenix)...

How Does Your Garden Grow? (Tales from our community garden plot): Dude--it's December; I'm not going up there.

Life with Static Girl: She is the best ever! She continues to put up with me--no, I don't know why!..We argued, or we fought, or something. Okay; we traded nasty notes, once, in November 2012. But that's LIKE a fight, right? Anyway; I wrote, 'maybe the world will end this week'. And SHE wrote back "Bah. It's not going to end until everyone is good and miserable." Which is brilliant on her; yes, and actually that is one of the longest sentences to come out of her, EVER! I am so happy and lucky to have been its recipient...11-10 to 11-17; She and I are trading sick back and forth--we hate this...I was going to explain a dumb joke on tv to her, and she said 'Please stop talking to me now.' I guess she doesn't need my little condescending explanations, huh?..It's not so easy to be her boyfriend. I have to give her attention, affection, options for activity, and most importantly--leave her alone most of the time. She only needs me for limited tasking, and I frequently oversaturate her. It may LOOK easy--being her man (sometimes I make it look easy), but it is not. Ask her--she'll tell you!..

My FCP has this for me: She's rooting for me in my pinball league!

Comments From The Peanut Gallery: USA DEBT JUMPS TO $15 TRILLION (11-16-11)...Two brothers and their father were sentenced to death on Monday for cheating 15,000 investors out of over $1.1 billion in east China’s Zhejiang province (11-18-11)...Congress say that pizza be a vegetable. Sheeeit...The Top 0.1% Of The Nation Earn Half Of All Capital Gains...Whatever MF Global WAS, it's gone now, and all of the money is missing. Ha...Oregon halts all executions in blow to US capital punishment system...

A thought to take with you: "History is fables agreed upon."--Francois Voltaire, French philosopher and author, 1694--1778 (My favorite Voltaire quote)

"Why is it easier to believe that 150,000,000 Americans are being lazy rather than 400 Americans are being greedy?"--Facebook repost by the lovely Stephanie Purtle

January 2012

(...last month we were...)

Reading: 7 foods that experts won't eat ...And Senate Bill 1867 (citizens detained indefinitely)...I'm on a roll now, check this: Endless Wars / The United Police States Of America ...And then there's this: A Pink Floyd reference! ... How about Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About 9/11 In Less Than 5 Minutes ...By the way; have I mentioned lately that I LOVE my Men's Health magazines? I learn more cool stuff from it/it makes me smarter, and it's a conversation-starter, etc. Thank You Men's Health!..

Watching: Hey! Congrads to Seth Green and Matthew Senreich for 100 episodes of Robot Chicken (last month). It's a smart, fast, quirky, current show that will be appreciated more in the future than the present...My favorite community-service tv ad in years is that new one "America could learn a lot from a drug addict..."...

Class Projects: Bones, Oregon Art Beat, Warehouse 13 Christmas, The Daily Show, Dr. Who is back,

movies together: no time for movies together

Shit I watch alone: Secret Access: The History Channel's new UFO show from 8-2011 is great! I always THOUGHT that there were 2 different "events", OBVIOUSLY, about an hour apart, on the night of the Phoenix Lights; March 13th, 1997 (I was on the FM radio in Athens, GA, with all of the Art Bell listeners freaking out on the AM station)...The show "American Horror Story" is not as good as I first thought, but is still better than most of the crap on tv...

Comedians: Earthquake,

Crappy cable movies: "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans", "Bad Santa" (finally),

Play it Again's: not much time for re-run movies. BUT; since I now own it (thanks Dad), I watched the DVD of "American: The Bill Hicks Story" on New Year's Eve (5 hours of bonus material awaits, as well)...

Watching and Hearing: J. Geils in an Energizer Bunny commercial, Bing + the Andrews sisters on Oregon Art Beat..."Jam It In Your Box"; a Daily Show song about how to save the Post Office...

Now with faster than dial-up internet; Youtubing: Everything comedian Ron Shock has ever done...Add "Josephina"--Gene Loves Jezebel to my playlist of music...(The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo soundtrack is by Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross. Nice.) NIN does Zep; as Trent (and Karen O. of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's) do a do-over of "Immigrant Song" (I'm still drooling)... "Grinding The Crack" (it's only 122 mph.) by Jeb Corliss--my new hero!..Continuing; the 5-part "Fearless" show about Jeb Corliss...

Hearing: Does Sting really have a Christmas album called "Police Navidad"?..New Silversun Pickups music; 3 songs, EP-style. Check out "Broken Bottles"...A new Christmas carol; "Vixen's Talkin' to a Lawyer, and Santa's at the Package Store". E-mail me, ask, and I'll send it to you (my Dad's pretty cool)...

New on the radio; I heard (new?) Cake right before "Out of Order" on 12-4-11; it sounded good to ME...

Musical Purchases this month from the Tom Tucker discount wall at Skip's Records And CDWorld; my future place of employment, and permanent Barbie Dream Home: liquid drinking vessels of a Floydian nature (check 'Life w/Static Girl' below)...

Out and About: Christmas music at Wendy's, Boston's Greatest Hits at the Talecris plasma center (sweet), Bing + The Andrews sisters at Big 5 Sporting Goods, Vertical Hroizon at Burger King, Heart at Fred Meyer, Led Zeppelin and U2 at the Dollar General store in Clarinda, (out?) Beck's "New Pollution" on the 'Down To Earth' hold music,

Singing: "Zoo Station"--NIN, "My Favourite Game"--Cardigans, (on the radio, screaming in traffic, all kinds of scary fun) "Welcome to The Black Parade"--My Chemical Romance, "Night Flight"--Led Zeppelin, "La Villa Strangiato"--Rush (Dude; again, how do you sing an instrumental?), "Child In Time"--Deepest Purple...Songs I sang that got me to and through 9 days in Iowa; "Jimmy Olsen's Blues"--Spin Doctors (Eugene airport), "Tire Swing"--Jimmy Buffet, "Find Your Way Back"--Jefferson Starship, "Another heart Calls"--All American Rejects, "All Star"--Fastball (Omaha airport),

What I want today: Um...Did you see Michelle Pfeiffer, at age 53 (?), in that purple dress? Hot like it's 1984 all over again: (Clever + Crude) Hey Michelle, come sit on my Scarface!...Lauren Graham + Alison Brie (My attraction to smart, dark-haired girls is life-long; glasses are a bonus!)...

New stuff this month or so: Right Winger Chris Stewart is my Avalanche calender boy...OK; so this is the last month of the last year before "whatever" is going to happen in 2012. I say; let's all get nekked...Britney Spears turns 30 this month--I'm getting old!..Kim Jong Il is now Kim Jong dead...Yeah; I hadn't been in an airport in 2 years, so just IMAGINE my surprise at the new rules. It's comedy material, folks...

This Month of bargain-shopping (Dollar Tree, Cash King, Big Lots, etc.): onion bits and dental floss at Dollar Tree for us, toilet paper/paper towels, dish soap, and a generic shamwow for The Location...

Occupational Hazards: They say that I do actually work at The Location Vintage Arcade. They SAY that; they just don't pay me yet...Oh! And my favorite bartender says that I no longer have poker games on Wednesday nights; booo. So I guess that means more time at the arcade--that I don't get paid for (yet). I'm confused; but it will be fun to find out just how many hours per week can I play pinball...(Picture posted on Facebook) Envy me; I wear an arcade shirt, with beer stickers, and pinball buttons; it is the BEST WORK UNIFORM EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER!..As of 12-12-11 it is official that I really DO work at The Location Vintage Arcade. I get to pick my title; so my current title is "Tour Guide"...My preliminary schedule is to work Mon. Wed.s + Fri 8pm til midnight; a couple of early hours on Thurs. (pre-Blues Jam), and-who-knows-what on Saturday. If they want to pay me, I'll give up the poker tournaments on Sun. + Tues. and work 7 days per week.

Personal shit for my own memory banks this month: 12-1-11 Blues Jam. I went extreme and did not keep control; fell on the patio; scraped my face up. Ow. Need to reconsider my place in the mix. So 12-2-11 becomes the most strenuous hangover workout ever; but I did the full walk--and it felt good! (No it didn't.)..So 12-3-11 is the 2nd anniversary of my DUII. So? So I stayed in, stayed dry, + played internet poker all night...12-5-11; I slept almost 14 hours total--making up for that Saturday up-all-night stupidity from 2 days ago...12-6-11; monster exercise walk in a light snowfall, then my 100th plasma donation (185 lbs. with heavy jeans on). Woo...So I may be back to eating chromium picolinate 30 minutes before exercise; I know that it used to work very well for me...12-11-11; no poker game--which makes for idle hands. Uh-oh. So it became another attempt at a Clarcade. Psycho Mike met me down there. I'm not a good drunk...12-13-11; so did I lose my Flash Gordon button last night? Bummer...I am done drinking alcohol at the arcade now--because I don't do it well (SIGNED "W C Davis" on 12-14-11) ...The mice appear to have left our house. Weird, huh? I don't know what to say. They taught us that we needed to clean out the pantry, and get some sealable storage bins--which we did (Homz brand). People can learn from mice...

Pinball and Golden Tee stuff: I start Deciembre 2011 as the 887th ranked pinball player in the world...I won 2 of 3 pinball games on Thursday 12-1-11 (Joe is back from surgery!); making me 46W + 19L overall in pinball league before Friday 12-2-11...I passed out + missed Friday 12-2-11 pinball league; sorry...12-3-11, back at the arcade; 9 mil on Elvira pinball (#2 score), as the back room is not locked up. There's even a Golden Tee '99 back there! More customers. Much more music on CAB's computer--the whole place is incredible!..12-6-11: The liquor license application is displayed in a front window (by law), and Eight Ball Deluxe (EBD) pinball is en route? Nice...12-7-11: My new Flash pinball high score; 2,322,240 (first time either machine has been turned over twice), and I played 2 games of Golden Tee '99...12-8-11; pinball before Blues Jam; won 2 of 3 games with Joe (again). My overall is 48W + 20L going into the final day. EBD + Elektra pinballs are both in-house now, and being worked on (sweet)...12-9-11 Final Night of pinball league: (I finished in 2nd place, 48W + 20L, before handicaps; so in ALL FOUR competitive events at The Location I have finished in 2nd place EVERY time, and every time to a different 1st place winner!) After handicaps, I came in 4th place; and the top 4 players playoff for money. I came in 3rd place, and won $60. Go me!..12-11-11; warm-up game of Pole Position 65,100; 222"67 (I've broken 65K 3 times now!). EBD pinball is in and working excellently...12-12-11; I promised to break 2 mil. on EBD, and did so (barely); 2.181 mil is my/the currrent high score...12-14-11; the new high score on EBD is my 2,269,390 (I love hearing it pop 3 times!). Eight Ball and Eight Ball Deluxe pinballs sit side-by-side in The Location, and I currently have the high scores on both (wheee). Can your arcade do this?..12-15-11; EBD high score is now my 3.254 mil...12-17-11 Saturday night; Ryker showed up, and on our first game of EBD together I put up 6,970,520 (more than double my old high score, sweet). And G-man was bragging about his 32 million on Bride of Pinbot, so I put up a 90 million game (new current high score). He was very upset, and demanded to play heads-up with me--not the best idea, G. I slaughtered him 73 million to 3 million. This was a great night. Merry Christmas to all!..I left on 12-19 with high scores on 7 pinball machines at my 'job'; I came back on 12-29, still with 7 high scores. Okay...

Grammar: The phrase 'I have a bone to pick with...' is (another) of the dumbest things ever said. Imagine 2 hungry birds finding a bone together. They are both now eating newfound food; sharing, without any anger. These are happy birds! Of course each bird is going to take HUGE bites, and try to eat more than the other bird--that's how life works. So; if you have a subject that needs clarification with another person, you do NOT have a 'bone to pick' with them. You have an issue that YOU want to 'nitpick' about; bitch, whine, complain, whatever. How 'nitpick' became a 'bone to pick' is completely beyond me (If there were a bird named "the nitpicker" then OKAY--this all might make sense, but there's not.). Never mind. YOU go on and keep talking in whatever dumbass manner you want to; perhaps you have a bone to pick with me.

New foods this month: 12-2-11 Pizza Friday; delicious. Yay me...Bulgur is up next; wait for it. That's a cool word, too; "Bulgur". Hey; bulgur is good stuff--we all like it here...12-9-11 Pizza Friday, yum!..12-10-11; with my pinball winnings, I bought us some Cornbread Cafe lunch. Yay me...12-16-11; no pizza. I made some buttery rice w/peas + beans which was really good...12-23-11; in Iowa--I don't remember...12-30-11; first Pizza Friday back, and it was great! 2/3 wheat, and 1/3 rye flour (crust) works great!..Not yet, but soon I will make Oregon filbert butter in my Magic Bullet, baby...

This month of Blues Jamming: 12-1-11, Blues Jam with ice outside! set 1 (I missed) Z-Bass, Ra on 1 guitar, T-Bone Stone harp, JP, Jimmy D drums. 2 was Z-Bass, Ro + Natty Bump on guitars, Scotty B harp, Lenny P drums (Janice gave out her Speaker Monkey t-shirts). 3 was Z-Bass, Ra + Ro guitars, JP, Jimmy D drums (Crimson + Clover, Teenage Pussy). Did I dance with Bubbles set 3? 4 was Z-Bass, Max + Ra guitars, JP, Jimmy D drums...12-8-11; Very cold! Psycho Mike-O (Ryker) showed! Set 1 I missed; Z-Bass, Jimmy D drummed, and a cast of regulars. 2 I showed up during; T-Mart bass, Ro + Ra guitars, Mark the Harp, JP keys, Lenny P drums (Axel did a SUPER 'Goin' Back To Memphis'). 3 was Z-Bass, Ri + Ra guitars, Scotty B harp, JP in + out, Axel drums. 4 was Z-Bass, Ri + Ra guitars, Scotty B harp, JP (some guitar), Jimmy D drums (and the crowd goes wild)...12-15-11 Blues Jam; set 1 (I missed) Z-Bass, Ri + Ra guitars, JP, Jimmy D drums. 2 was Russ W. bass, Ed + Ro (!) guitars, Scotty B harp, Fiddler Bob, Axel drums. 3 was T-Mart bass, Max + Ri (sitting) guitars, Scotty B harp, JP, Jimmy D drums. 4 was Z-Bass, Max + Ra guitars, (drunk) Tim on trumpet, JP, Jimmy D drums...12-22-11; I missed because Iowa got in the way...12-29-11; first night back in town! I missed set 1 because I was at The Location with Ryker, who also then came down to Blues Jam with me. We walked in to Axel singing/drumming Mustang Sally with Val also singing (nice). So set 2 was T-Mart bass, Ro + Ri + Kyle on 3 guitars, Scotty B harp, JP on keys, and Axel drumming. 3 was Z-Bass, Ra + Max on guitars, Mark the Harp, JP came in late, Jimmy D drums. 4 was Z-Bass, Max + Ra guitars, Mark the Harp, JP, Jimmy D drums. Guest singer D. C. Malone was fantastic, and should sing more!..The final Blues Jam of 2011 was excellent. There was a new customer guy, C, first time AT the bar. He LOVED it (duh), and he'll be back...

My trials and trib.s as a critical believer in the concept of God:

What's different here than in college town: In less than a year, the entire University of Oregon campus is going completely tobacco-free. THIS is going to be fun to watch!..

What's different here than dumbass Arizona: Freak Tofu Explosion Terrorizes the 300 block of Northwest Fifth Avenue in Portland; $15K worth of damage (there ain't no tofu explodin' down in Phoenix)...Crab season began here on 12-16-11(?)...Our county had a rainfall record on 12-28-11...

How Does Your Garden Grow? (Tales from our community garden plot): We went on Sun. 12-4-11, and pulled up all the remaining stuff that we could, and then we were the first Sunday customers at The Divine Cupake!..

Life with Static Girl: 12-2-11; I asked her to buy me a Pink Floyd travel cup at CDWorld. She NOT ONLY bought it for me, BUT ALSO got me the only Wish You Were Here coffee mug I've ever seen, too. She said that I could have BOTH! I am so lucky!..On the drive to the garden plot on 12-4, right at 10 am, we heard a song (possibly the first song on "Out Of Order" with Jed the Fish). I liked it. Horns started playing; I liked it even more. Then I heard John McCrea's voice; NOW I really like it, and I announce 'This must be a new Cake song.' So I slow down; I'm bobbing my head, and tapping the steering wheel--this is good music! So I glance over at Static Girl, and she looks much more annoyed than usual. I ask 'Do you like this?' And she shakes her head 'No'. So I'm all like; 'How can you not like this? This is great; this is Cake.' And she says "I hate Cake." I said 'Okay; that's it--I have to break up with you now.' And she smiled. 13 years with this girl; and TODAY I find out that she doesn't like Cake (she has merely tolerated them--for me). Sheesh...My girlfriend usually cannot be bothered to even say the word 'whatever'. She really does take apathy to a new level. If she bothers to shrug her left shoulder, ever so slightly--and difficult to see with the naked eye, then 'whatever' is most likely what she means. If there is any doubt, in public, then I will be happy to translate as need be. I am so very lucky...

My FCP has this for me: My FCP likes Cake--I know that she likes Crystal Method, too. She might be the only 'other woman' I'll ever need. Hmmm...

Comments From The Peanut Gallery: NASA found a planet that is just like earth...12-7-11 "China's Hu urges navy to prepare for combat."...12-8-11; "Food Stamp Fraud Targeted, but Not Bank Fraud"...12-10-11; a predator drone was lost in Iran. And another predator drone was used in for domestic surveillance on U. S. citizen Rodney Brossart's property in North Dakota...12-14-11; "BP Awarded $27 Million in Leases for Gulf Oil, Gas Exploration"...The Iraq War ended on 12-16-11...(end of month) The Saab car company went bankrupt...Sears and K-Mart are both closing hundreds of stores...

A thought to take with you: "Do you remember when teachers, public employees, Planned Parenthood, NPR and PBS crashed the stock market, wiped out half of our 401K's, took trillions in taxpayer funded bailouts, spilled oil in the Gulf of Mexico, gave themselves billions in bonuses, and paid no taxes? Yeah, me neither...Pass it on."--from "Being Liberal"'s Facebook page

SIDEBAR 154

February 2012

(...last month we were...)

Reading: Newspapers, Men's Health + Wired magazines. Not much else.

Watching: Lots of pinball; not so much tv.

Class Projects: The Daily Show, Bones, NOVA, House, Castle,

movies together: nada

Shit I watch alone: Disc #2 of my "American: The Bill Hicks Story" is goood...

Comedians: Christopher Titus "Neverlution",

Crappy cable movies: "Elevator Girl", "Just Go With It", "Stag Night",

Play it Again's: "The Social Network",

Watching and Hearing: I skimmed through the Miss America pageant. They wore evening gowns and strutted to soft indie rock. Why wasn't the music "Miss America" by Styx? Styx music has been popping up in strange places, backgrounds, sporting events, etc.. And another thing; on Divisional playoff Sunday (1-15-12) there was a show on network tv called "Improv-Ice" from Greenville, SC starring Styx. WTF?..Filter rocked Jimmy Kimmel on 1-19-12; Richard Patrick even surfed the crowd!..

Now with faster than dial-up internet; Youtubing: I am pretty boring...

Hearing: Immortal Technique "The Martyr", Shirley Manson suggested the band Alabama Shakes to me; okay...

New on the radio; Garbage is coming out with new music this month! (or possibly early February 2012, plus they have a new website)..New Van Halen minus Michael Anthony, new Nightwish, new Cage the Elephant...New Cake "Mustache Man"...I finally heard the new Silversun Pickups "Broken Bottles" on the radio (I believe I had that one)...New Scorpions, cool...New Smashing Pumpkins "Oceania"? Tell me more...New Cars "Sad Song", huh?..

Musical Purchases this month from the Tom Tucker discount wall at Skip's Records And CDWorld; my future place of employment, and permanent Barbie Dream Home: I can't afford to purchase new music...

Out and About: This is boring. I used to think it was so important to be able to name the music playing in the background of stores and restaurants; I have no life.

Singing: "My Favourite Game"--The Cardigans, "Roll Start"--W. C. Davis, "Return To Sender"--Elvis Presley, "If You Could Only See'--Tonic, "Alone"--Heart, "Had A Dream"--Roger Hodgson, "Not Again"--Crumb, "Stain"--Three Penny Needle, "The Art Of War"--Anberlin (and it would be a single were I still on the radio, thank you), "It's All Over But The Crying"--Garbage,

What I want today: I want my savings account money invested in silver. Yeah. Maybe um, I also want a savings account. How long do YOU think the American dollar will last?..

New stuff this month or so: AC/DC pinball is coming soon!.. Wc is now friends with Butch Vig, Shirley Manson, and "Garbage" on Facebook. Holy crap! Shirley Manson sent me a personal message! But my girlfriend is not jealous (damn)...

This Month of bargain-shopping (Dollar Tree, Cash King, Big Lots, etc.): incense and a candle at Cash King...Bathroom supplies for Blairally from Dollar Tree...

Occupational Hazards: I DO work at the arcade; it is called "Blairally". And now I have to take my own advice and be careful who I bring down there. As I say to people; "Tell your cool friends--not the assholes." And then I go and take an asshole down there on 1-24.

Personal shit for my own memory banks this month: "Complacify" is a word I made up while talking to my girl. "Champain" (mimosa hangover) and "Christmatastrophe" (Serial Killer Santa) slide in, as well...The day after the 1-5-12 Blues Jam was my big talk with the owner of the poker/Blues Jam bar. She's not going to make my visits to her establishment less expensive, so I'll go less often--and spend less money. Her choice...1-7-12 Saturday; I slept in until almost 3 pm. Good for me...1-9 Monday, I went out; Tues. 1-10 I stayed sober at poker (and won $20)--switching up my days, like a smart drunk...1-11-12; I need a new "medicine" grower; hmmm. My frustrating night at The Location revolved around the impending rule changes; no new drunk talky-talky bitches who don't play pinball or video games--why would she be there? And her friends LEFT her there, AND gave her back her car keys. People are stupid, and they will pay...1-12-12; so it turns out that I get way too generous with my stuff when I drink. My new plan will be to not take product with me on drinking nights; cool...1-13-12; I have lost my nail file. You don't know what that means, but it sucks! Also; I am alternating the quickie squats/push-ups workouts when I don't have 40 minutes for a walk (sore thighs, baby)...1-14-12; my first exercise walk carrying more than 50 lbs; 18 in each hand, 8 on each leg. I will be more sorer tomorrow; and, plan on 50-60 lb. walks becoming regular...I got pulled over on 1-16-12 for 2 improper turns (not turning into the closest lane). Luckily, the policeman was courteous and understanding. Even sober drivers can screw up...1-19-12; My first Xanax log! Yum! Oh; and I lost my watch at Blues Jam? Going naked through Sunday. 1-22-12 (still naked), did descending squat/push-ups in front of the Patriots game. Got down through 7 (from 15). That's 99 of each; wow for me!..I haven't been more than 24 hours without a watch for my entire adult life, but now (1-23-12) I'm on day 4 without (still naked)...1-23-12; I am mega-sore from yesterday's workout. Okay; got my teeth cleaned, went walking with 52 lbs. again. At China Mart, I waved around the 20 lb. weights, and they were very heavy--MUCH heavier than I anticipated. Will they get lighter; as the 10's and 15's did? Also; I bought another watch at China Mart, so then (of course) I immediately found my "lost" one (at home). Great. So I shaved my head again...1-24-12; after staying up all night (not by choice) it would appear that my body is getting sick. Plus it's all rainy and yucky outside. Damn. Later; after winning $20 in my poker game, I headed for the arcade...1-25-12 Wednesday; day 2 of being down with the sickness; no cigarettes, no sexercise, no house-cleaning, and no arcade. Bummer...1-26-12 Thursday; I spent most of the day in bed (Cheri would be so jealous). No exercise, no plasma, no arcade, and no Blues Jam--all of you can go to hell...1-27-12 Friday, still sick. No cigarettes, no pizza, no exercise. To the arcade--not the best move on my part; I am stressed. Almost snapped at the first drunk idiot--bad W C...Saturday 1-28-12; after much recollection--I must exercise, or else I'm going to kill somebody. GOOD exercise, lots of coughing. 5 days with no smokes. My lungs feel lighter--maybe I should quit smoking for a month--just to check it out...1-30-12; big trip to the dentist; 4 fillings in 2 teeth. Ow. It screwed my whole day up. Had to nap, and miss vacuuming.

Pinball and Golden Tee stuff: I start 2012 (well, January 9th) as the 622nd ranked pinball player in the world...1-2-11; the new Pole Position high score at The Location is my 65,310; finished in 221:52, with 23 seconds left, and 133 cars passed (new #9 world record). Beat that, and be happy...1-4-12; the new Bride of Pinbot high score is my 130 million. DLD is now focused on beating me at 'Bride'; we'll see...Pool Sharks pinball is gone; Fish Tales pinball is back (so I have high scores on only 6 macines now, not 7)...1-10-11; CAB (my boss) scored 65,500 on Pole Position, that's the new Blairally high score, and #9 world record (I'm #10)...1-11-12; 5 mil on Time Machine pinball (new high score, so I'm back up to 7 high scores again), and almost 4 Billion on the Billionaires Club of "The Machine"--so I have BOTH high scores on it again...1-13-12; DLD now has 7 Billion on "The Machine" (that's good). I scored 4.9 mil on Banzai Run for a new #2 score...1-17-12; finally put my name up on Harley Davidson pinball at the O/T (300 mil), then went and topped my own high score on Time Machine (8 million now) at The Location...As of 1-23-12, the backroom is being rewired to hold many machines--sweet!..1-24-12: The backroom is gorgeous! It's like; Heather Locklear-1987-magazine cover-yummy! 11 pinball machines side-by-side (24 pinballs total)...As of 1-25-12; "The Location" is out; "Blairally" is in. Also; the wall came down--which would mean 24 pinball machines in 1 room. Sweet...1-28-12 Sat. night, my new personal best on Banzai Run pinball is 5.494 mil (new #2 score)...1-30-12; '99 Golden Tee at Blairally; all 3 courses have -17 on them. BIG has -17 on Aspen Lake, I have -17 on both Coconut Grove and Rancho Saguaro (tonight). I AM Golden Tee at Blairally!..1-31-12. The Banzai Run pinball scores were reset. After scoring 6.1 mil, I later scored 9,825,100 mil (at 4 am) for the new Blairally high score!..

Grammar: Hagar the Horrible said "your" when it meant "you" on 1-4-12?.."Allowed" is not the same as "aloud", but it does provide an interesting cross--like um, 'There's no swearing ALOUD (out loud) in here, but silent swearing is ALLOWED (optional).'. See?.."Top Ten Grammar Peeves" was a random Facebook post--it should have been mine!..

New foods this month: Dad sent me a burlap bag of Anasazi beans, which are possibly the oldest beans around. They are mild and excellent...1-13-12; Pizza Friday The 13th! It was excellent; I like making pizza at home...1-20-12 was not pizza, but tater tots with avocado-ish ketchup made in the Magic Bullet. Yum...

This month of Blues Jamming: 1-5-12; expen$ive night for me. Missed set 1, who cares? 2 was Z-Bass, Ra + Ro guitars, Scotty B harp, JP keys + guitar, Axel drums. 3 was Z-Bass, Ra + Jeff guitars, Mark the Harp, JP, Jimmy D drums. 4 was the same as 3, maybe...1-12-12; okay, this is the last time I take "product" with me to Blues Jam--I just get stupid with it! Missed sets 1 and 2. 3 was fantastic; Russ W. on bass, Jeff + Max on guitars, JP on keys, Jimmy D drums, Steve on washboard. Later Darcy Lee came up and sang a few songs, too. Brilliant! Set 4 was Z-Bass, Jeff + Ra guitars, JP, Jimmy D drums...1-19-12; set 1 I missed; Ryker showed up at the arcade! set 2 was Z-Bass, Max (1 house guitar tonight), Fiddler Bob, JP, Lenny P drums. Set 3 was Z-Bass, Max on 1 guitar, (virgin) Lloyd on harp (very good), JP, Axel drums (Mustang Sally). 4 was Z-Bass, Max, JP, and Jimmy D drums. I lost my watch?..

My trials and trib.s as a critical believer in the concept of God: God is taking a nap, and He's earned it.

What's different here than in college town: The Oregon minimum wage has gone up from $8.50 to $8.80 now. It must be nice...Georgia Republican John Andrew Smith, who wants all welfare recipients to be drug-tested, got a DUII...

What's different here than dumbass Arizona:

How Does Your Garden Grow? (Tales from our community garden plot): We'll do it for one more year...

Life with Static Girl: The house is going (went) vegan on 1-1-12. No more chocolate/cheese in here for me...My girlfriend looks smart, but she's even smarter than she looks...Static Girl renewed my website for 1 more year--I guess she hasn't seen me cuss enough yet (that's a joke)...She always has a book within reach of the bed. I always have some sort of flaming device (lighter, matches) within reach of the bed. Priorities...My dark-haired girlfriend is not 24 anymore (1998). Her hair has gorgeous streaks of silver in it. On 1-15-12, we got a little snow. Sitting in front of her window, the snow falls around her, and it's photogenic how her hair appears to have snow in it--but she won't let me take pictures of her...From her I learned that "decaffeinated" doesn't mean the same as "no caffeine"...

My FCP has this for me: I need her so badly. It's wonderful the way we depend on each other...I was e-mailing her, and she called me WHILE I was doing it!..She is a primary catalyst for me to (maybe) quit smoking in February 2012...

SIDEBAR 155

March 2012

(...last month we were...)

Reading: A quick, current American economic read (2 minutes),

Watching: We're trying to ditch Dish, and try out Direct TV for 2 years. It shouldn't be so difficult...

Class Projects: House, Castle, Oregon Art Beats,

movies together: nope

Shit I watch alone: Archer on FX is possibly the greatest distraction ever...

Comedians: Not enough time, although I should make time for them...

Crappy cable movies: "Frenemy",

Play it Again's: no repeats.

Watching and Hearing: Grammy Congrads to Dave Grohl, the Foos, and Butch Vig for all they accomplished in 2011...

Now with faster than dial-up internet; Youtubing: "Not Your Fault"--AWOLNation, "I Don't Want To Be Me"--Type O Negative,

Hearing: I hear so much here.

New on the radio; new GARBAGE single is "I Hate Love" off the album "Not Your Kind Of People" won't be coming out until May 14th, 2012--oh well...(To start February "The Sound Of Winter"--Bush was still my favorite radio song. By the 8th, after 3 listens now, my new favorite is AWOLNation's "Not Your Fault"), radio also has new Foo, new Jack White stuff, new Sinead O'Conner, new Band of Skulls, new Cranberries (?), new Joan Osborne doing blues--"Hip Shake" (!),

Musical Purchases this month from the Tom Tucker discount wall at Skip's Records And CDWorld; my future place of employment, and permanent Barbie Dream Home: The new sign says "Skip's Records and CD World". Yay. It is officially my favorite record store now...

Out and About: Who cares?

Singing: "The Art Of War" and "To The Wolves"--Anberlin, "The Sound Of Winter"--Bush, "Not Your Fault"--AWOLNation, 3 songs off "2112"--RUSH, "Hurt" and "Something I Can Never Have"--NIN, "Creep"--Radiohead, "Nobody Home"--Pink Floyd, "It's All Over But The Crying"--Garbage, "Silver, Blue and Gold"--Bad Company, "Pepper"--Butthole Surfers,

What I want today: I want to kill some people. So?

New stuff this month or so: (from last month) T. J. Galliardi was the Colorado Avalanche calender boy for January. Defenseman Erik Johnson is February's!..Gus turned 240,000 miles, and I'm very proud of him!..My friend Axel quit his 15 year radio gig, and is suing his old bosses. I hope he wins millions!..Gus is blowing smoke through the air vents now--and it gives me headaches; how many cars have done this to me? 3?..2-20-12; gave Gus some Rislone smoke treatment. So far so good...Double cheeseburgers at Burger King are up to $1.99 now. They ain't worth that much...McDonald's is very smart--give them credit; they already have (blank) NCAA Final Four Bracket tray liners by 2-22-12...

This Month of bargain-shopping (Dollar Tree, Cash King, Big Lots, etc.): bathroom supplies for Blairally; now TWO bathrooms at Blairally....

Occupational Hazards: Well; now that I officially WORK at Blairally...

Personal shit for my own memory banks this month: 190 lbs. on 2-2-12...2-7-12 Tuesday, and 2-9-12 Thursday I danced (a little) without pain on 2 different nights this week; yay me...2-10-12: Had to take out part of Gus' dashboard so we can turn the headlights on. White Trash, baby. I don't want to explain it further. Also; 2 computer paper box lids that I have stored CD's in since 1994 were replaced nicely by a box from my gilrfriend's job. Cool...2-10-12; Friday night at work a VERY cute artist girl gave me her business card; with pictures of her art on front and back. This card also has her phone number on it. Now; does that count as getting a cute girl's phone number? My brain says 'no'--but we're Facebook friends now!..2-12-12: Oh yeah; I was going to quit smoking cigarettes, but have not yet...If I win my own poker tournament, or if I sell some pot, then that's good. But if I take the winnings and go directly to the nudey bar, then that's bad...Tuesday, 2-21-12, ha, I went and redid my paperwork for my new medicine-provider. Look at me, being all responsible and stuff...So; I haven't quit smoking cigarettes. My van is blowing engine smoke through the vents, and my job has flooring dust in the air. My poor lungs will never make it through all this!..2-24-12; finally reset my bed against the wall; I should sleep a bit better...2-27-12; today was the first day that the 20 lb. hex weights did not feel impossible to manage (from a store shelf). They never even felt "possible" before; but now, it's just a matter of 'when'...Okay, buddy, YOU. Still volunteering way too much information, and still being far too generous with your limited supplies of stuff. Especially when you get drunk + happy; you just want to give everything away. Quit doing that--or else!..2-27-12 Monday; my first Monday NOT at the arcade in months! The floor is being finished, maybe...2-29-12; Leap Day? Sure. I spent almost 2 hours at the dentist, getting $300 worth of work done. There's still tons more to do, yes, but at least I'm GOING to the dentist! I don't care what they look like--and never have (form), I just need them to crunch food (function). Thanks to OSU's Dr. Jackson!..

Pinball and Golden Tee stuff: (Ranked #634 in the world at pinball on 2-9-12) The stand-up Pole Position is now back to just a 3-lap race. On 2-1-12 (2112) I finished in 1:69, with 14 seconds left; scored 51,850--the new Blairally high score (for 3 laps)...Okay; there are 24 pinball machines at Blairally, and I have the high scores on 8 of them. Gavin has 4 or 5 (and recently beat my Star Trek high score), and DLD has 2, but I am still Mr. Pinball there. 2-2-12; ALL of Flash Gordon pinball's playfield lights are now working--it's gorgeous! And Eight Ball Deluxe is working again. Also on this day; the arcade lost one of its investors and biggest fans; ROX passed away. Funeral service on 2-10-12...Got my newest Golden Tee card in the mail on 2-4-12; and there was a new pinball league meeting at work. Later; I stayed late, and scored 7 mil on Banzai Run at 7 am Superbowl Sunday. Also this weekend; a cocktail Defender game showed up at Blairally. Sweet...2-5-12; post-Superbowl, I went to Blairally and scored -20 on '99 Golden Tee's Aspen Lake (first -20 game at Blairally)--while working!..DLD has retaken the high score on Bride Of Pinbot (162 mil beats my 130), but I still have 7 total high scores...2-10-12; my first payment for services rendered happened tonight! Yay; I work at the arcade! Also; we are all putting up ROX as our honorary high score initials. I was HAPPY to equal my 51,850 high score on Pole Position Friday night--in 2 tries, and put up "ROX". RIP Eric S...2-13-12, Monday, I worked, and put coin-mechs on a few games. More to come this week!..2-14-12; Valentine's Day at the arcade. The honorary intials of ROX went up as the new high score on Elvira pinball (16.4 mil)...2-15-12; I get to work at 8 pm, and (my all-time favorite, ever) "Getaway" pinball is in house, and working! I said I wouldn't leave until I put my initials up, and wound up with the new #2 score of 346 mil. I also got -19 on Rancho Saguaro for the new best score on that course of Golden Tee '99. Yay me...SAM scored a -21 on Aspen Lake at Blairally--the new high score; boo...I've scored 450 mil on Getaway pinball; I got the Redline Mania super jackpot--that was fun...2-17-12; ROX Rocks night at the arcade. On the in-house Eight Ball Deluxe pinball tournament I came in 2nd place...2-17 + 2-18, Fri. + Sat, I stayed overnight at the arcade to play Getaway pinball under the surgery light. It's MY world!..Until further notice, my gaming initials are ROX...Monday night, 2-20-12, after gettting the new Pole Position lap record of 55:71, I stayed all night to play more pinball/guard the front door. 2 7's and an 8 mil. on Banzai Run (4:30 am), and the new 723 mil. high score on Getaway (4 am)...

Grammar: Pearls Before Swine comics helped out with this: The words ARE "all right". The word is NOT 'alright'.

New foods this month: Forgot from last month; 1-27-12 no Pizza Friday--my girl took me to Cornbread Cafe for an excellent dinner...2-3-12; Pizza Friday! mushrooms + olives in the bullet--but not quite a paste. Fantastic pizza, and we'll do it again soon!..2-10-12; more Pizza Friday--I'm getting faster and more efficient. Yum!..2-18-12; Pizza Saturday went very well...2-24-12; more Pizza Friday, excellent...

This month of Blues Jamming: 2-2-12 (last Jam with cigarettes?); set 1 (I missed, booo) Z-Bass, Ra + Brian C. on guitars, Darcy sang, Mark the Harp, JP on keys, Jimmy D AND Cheeseburger Clark drummed (2 drummers)! Set 2 was T-Mart, Ri + Ra guitars, Fiddler Bob, JP keys, Lenny P drums. 3 was Z-Bass, Ra + Jay guitars, JP keys, Axel drums. 4 was T-Mart bass, Max + Ra + Jay (Jay's best night yet!) on THREE guitars, Scotty B on harp, Jimmy D drums. Nice!..2-9-12; set 1 (I missed) Z-Bass, Ra on 1 guitar, Mark the Harp, JP, Jimmy D drums. Set 2 was Russ W. on bass, Max + Ra on guitars, Scotty B on harp, Lenny P drums (Axel + Val sang mustang Sally). Set 3 had Z-Bass, Max + Ra, Scotty B, Axel drums. Then I got kidnapped and taken to 80's Dance Night...2-16-12; what happened? I went, and took notes, but seem to have lost them. Wait; found them; set 1 (I missed) was Z-Bass, Ra + Chad on guitars, J.P., Jimmy D drums. 2 was Z-Bass, Max + George on guitars, Scotty B harp, J.P., Joanie on sax, Gary drums. 3 was Z-Bass, Ra + Chad guitars, Lenny P drums. 4 was Z-Bass, Max + Ra guitars, J.P., Jimmy D drums. Making $30 at Blues Jam was good; going to the nudey bar and spending $40 was bad. I never learn...2-23-12; set 1 (I missed) Z-Bass, Ra on 1 guitar, Will on sax, JP keys, Jimmy D drums. 2 was Z-Bass, TRE + Chad on guitars, Mark the Harp, JP, Lenny P drums. 3 was Mike bass, Jim + Ro guitars, Scotty B harp, Greg drums. 4 was Z-Bass, Max + Jay + Tom on 3 guitars, Jimmy D drums...

My trials and trib.s as a critical believer in the concept of God: God is re-reading the Mayan calender.

What's different here than in college town: In Georgia you can advertise to help somebody to commit suicide...Georgia has dragstrips and raceways, but Oregon has a the west coast's first "sand" raceway (carved out of a dune) near North Bend...There's a new DC comic about zombies ("I-Zombie", maybe), and it's set right here in Eugene, OR. That's pretty cool...Saturday 2-25-12; Oregon had every weather there is; snow, sun, sleet, rain--you name it, and we had it. It was cold, too...

What's different here than dumbass Arizona: The Oregon coast had earthquakes 2 days in a row; Monday 2-13-12, and Valentines Day 2-14; 5.6 and 6.0. Wooo...There is a new dating service in Eugene that pairs vegetarians/vegans together. Shhh. Don't tell my girlfriend!..Washington was the first state to include a law to pass recreational pot-smoking come this November. Colorado has also added that same law. CA and OR should be next...

How Does Your Garden Grow? (Tales from our community garden plot): no grow right now.

Life with Static Girl: Even while sick herself, my girlfriend still tunes herself into my needs. I am such a lucky man!..For Valentine's Day, or actually the day before it, I got her a pretty green "Keep Eugene Weird" shirt from CDWorld. She likes it!..The day after Valentine's, I got her a new bottle of Yumm sauce; do you see how we did NOTHING together on the actual Valentine's Day? That's by design, baby...I watch the arguments other couples have (at the arcade is a good example), and I am humbled at how good my home life is. The biggest argument between us, right now, is this: she doesn't like my green cargo pants anymore (big hole in my butt). Nice...Sometimes when I come home at 9 pm, (quickly) she will shut down her stuff and go to sleep--so I don't bother her. Sometimes when she wakes up at 6:45 am, (quickly) I will then shut down my stuff and go to sleep--so I don't bother her. Did I explain that correctly? Sometimes we "hide" from each other...My girlfriend has "Repressed Emotional Dysfunction"; which is a cool term that I just made up while tucking her into bed on 2-29-12. I am awesome!..

My FCP has this for me: "The Sound Of Winter" is our newest song; a GREAT song for a female complete package of a lady!..She took a little vacation, which she totally deserved. Now I wish she'd come out here!..

Comments From The Peanut Gallery: 1/3 of U. S. schools have mold and dust making kids sick...Here in Oregon this month, Shawn Connelly was pulled over and arrested for criminal possession of heroin (intent to distribute)--but then released. Later he led cops on a vehicle pursuit, was pulled over, and then let go AGAIN by police. At 3 am that evening, he was finally shot dead in a botched drug robbery. Rule to learn? Don't drive drunk--drive on heroin...

A thought to take with you: "Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves."--Albert Einstein

"We don't stop playing because we get older...We get older because we stop playing."--stolen Facebook comment

"A smile is every woman’s sexiest curve."--Facebook post that I do NOT 100% agree with.

Oregon Bumper Stickers: ehhh.

Band names: ehhh, again.

SIDEBAR 156

April 2012

(...last month we were...)

Reading: Are Jobs Obsolete?...Men's Health magazine! Curcumin, a component of turmeric, is a powerful anti-inflammatory. And I want some of this painkiller Prialt!..Cheapism.com is a good frugal website...Jeff Foxworthy understands Oregon!..

Watching: Okay; so the Dish network went away on Saturday night 3-3-12 at midnight. We still have access to the DVR though; so I have about 30 Robot Chickens and a few movies to watch before noon on Tuesday, when we get Direct TV. The bundle will soon be complete!..Jeezus; how important is tv really? I mean, right now, with no sports of note. It's a strange habit...Direct TV sent us a DVR with no On Demand access, and we can't sign in to our account online either. They have screwed up evertyhing possible so far. Stay tuned...It just keeps getting better with Direct TV (sarcasm). We have no On Demand on the television, but we are supposed to be able to have it on their website--3 different Direct TV people told me this. But no! On Demand is just a download to the television's DVR, and it has to be an HD DVR (which we don't have). So we have ZERO access to On Demand. On Demand was the ONLY reason we wanted to try Direct TV. This is such complete bullshit that I must remind everybody (including myself) of my motto: "Play At Your Own Risk, BABY!"...

Class Projects: "Infested", "Castle", "Oregon Art Beat",

movies together: We WILL watch "Forks Over Knives", about changing to a plant-based diet. Hmmm...

Shit I watch alone: Lost Tapes, and The Mortified Sessions...The 'Scrubs Night' finale on Cougar Town was good..."American Weed Fort Collins, Co", RayBob told me about "National Lampoon's Dirty Movie", and I MUST see that!

Comedians: Sebastian Maniscalco "What's Wrong With People", John Mulaney "New In Town", Ron White's "Celebrity Salute To The Troops",

Crappy cable movies: (3 month preview of movie channels) "Resident Evil Afterlife" (has A Perfect Circle's "The Outsider" in it), "Stone", "Drive Angry", "Game Change" (very good), "The Violent Kind" (very bad), "Suicide Girls Must Die" (even worse, but has boobies), "Black Swan", "Road Kill", "Bad Teacher", "The Untold", "30 Minutes Or Less",

Play it Again's: "Bloody Murder", "Less Than Zero" (I finally saw Flea this time), "The Rookie", "T3 Rise Of The Machines",

Watching and Hearing: Archer continues to make RUSH references (YYZ), a great bio on Black Sabbath,

Now with faster than dial-up internet; Youtubing: every Garbage song I can find (in anticipation of their new album),

Hearing: (Soon) Garbage' "Not Your Kind Of People" goes up for pre-order on 3-7-12. Yes; continuing, "Blood For Poppies" may be the first new Garbage single--it's on their official website...

New on the radio; Shinedown (single "Bully" from last month, full-length "Amaryllis" released this month), All American Rejects new release is "Kids In The Street",

Musical Purchases this month from the Tom Tucker discount wall at Skip's Records And CDWorld; my future place of employment, and permanent Barbie Dream Home: nothing.

Out and About: Dishwalla and The Bangles at Fred Meyer,

Singing: "How's It Going To Be" and "Semi-Charmed Life"--Third Eye Blind, "Black Celebration"--the Monster Magnet do-over of Depeche Mode, "Steam"--Peter Gabriel,

What I want today: I want tv that does what was promised (On Demand), and I want a vehicle that does not spew toxic smoke through the dashboard. Is that too much too ask? Maybe God is calling back for my help in a different dimension. THIS dimension is FUBAR. Fuck it; kill me now...

New stuff this month or so: Right Winger David Jones is the Colorado Avalanche calender guy...3-14-12 is "Steak-And-Blowjob" day? I did not completely comply...Tool should have an album out by Summer. Pearl Jam is back in the studio, recording. And the new Smashing Pumpkins will come out soon...Iron Maiden is doing a 2012 tour...I don't care what the big city dealers barter with, you will NOT be trading your Tide detergent for MY weed. Sorry...A 21 Jump Street movie? Next you'll be telling me about a new 3 Stooges film prank. Oh no; is "Carrie" up next? Yes, I guess so. Okay; I'm goin' back to bed...Mo Ison (female soccer goalie babe for LSU) was not picked as a kicker for the football team--but the LSU football team gets credit for a cool idea...Hunger Games? Who cares?..3-21-12; Eugene celebrates Spring with 7.5 inches of snow...Radiohead comes to Oregon in April? Nice...3-29-12; my boy, Keith Olbermann was run off of Current Tv today. I am sad...

This Month of bargain-shopping (Dollar Tree, Cash King, Big Lots, etc.): more microfiber rags for the arcade, and a bleach pen...Onion bits, Aim...A pair of insoles for my Coleman boots--a day late, a buck short...

Occupational Hazards: 2 pinballs (Bride of Pinbot, and my Getaway), and 3 video games are at Pegasys Pizza--I went and checked on them...(I have been told that) "Scouts" from the other arcade (Level Up) may have already come and judged me at Blairally. Good for them. How'd I do?..

Personal shit for my own memory banks this month: Last month, actually; my 2nd purchase with my new debit card was to get a new "medicine provider"...My 3rd purchase with my new debit card was to sign up for Direct TV...My 4th purchase with it was to renew my AAA membership--now you know...Gus is getting a check-up on Monday 3-5; he has a smoking problem. I hope he can live--we shall see...Gus is dying--let's hope it's slow...3-6-12; I sent out a bulk e-mail asking for input on my van scenario; we got Direct TV in our living room today, too. Now I'm back to cleaning!..3-7-12; I am on a vehicular vision quest right now. So?..Maybe we'll just drive Gus until the wheels fall off; I don't like gas at $4 a gallon anyway...3-2 to 3-9-12; reaction on my right arm from plasma donations. Booo...3-14 to 3-16; no exercise walks; I got lazy; my right shoulder/left ankle hurt. It's not like me. Then a girl at the arcade mentioned the '20 by May' weight loss idea, and I like it. So I am not only back at exercise on 3-17, but I'm going to kick it (and do bonus stuff)!..Exercise walk in the snow on 3-18-12; NICE!..Normally I don't do laundry until I've worn my 3 favorite t-shirts (as writ in an e-mail to my FCP); so on Monday 3-19-12, I DID do a load of laundry while (1) Fig Dish, (2) Do the Dew, and (3) Sister Machine Gun were all clean/have not been worn yet. I am out of control over here...3-18-12 Sunday poker; almost 2 fights. Ray won the tournament, then I did well in the cash game...3-19-12; full exercise circuit--this is going to hurt tomorrow...3-20-12; Spring? I did housework, walked in the rain, cooked dinner, it's 2:30, and I still have more to do...3-19 to 3-23; mystery pills eaten, 3 hangovers, foot blisters on purpose, left ankle slip on the ice--while trying to exercise, and I got kicked in the nuts by a guy--these are weird things--even for me! I may have to quit drinking for a little while. Hangovers are killers at 46. Oh! And those multiple mystery pills were morphine!..3-24, is that Saturday? That's when I got sick. And it's killing me. No poker for me on 3-25...Mon 3-26; I'm sleeping 16 hours per day now, and it hurts to pick up a gallon of water--booo. Also; (for the first time in months) played a 'skip to round 2' of Facebook "Shootout" poker, and won it...Tuesday 3-27, still sick. Coughed up some tar, my back popped, and I can feel more breath now. I also seared my left arm on the stove (3 times) while inhaling steam. Odd, dumb, pathetic? Yes, and possible comedy material later...TH 3-29-12; still sick, but better. Fun trip to Fred Meyer, talking about how weak I am. Also; during my unstructured sick sleep sessions, my body has TOTALLY gone back to waking up at 8 pm, and staying awake until early afternoon the next day. THE OVERNIGHT GUY RETURNS! BWAHAHAHAHA!..Oh; cancel that new debit card--it was replaced today (3-29)...

Pinball and Golden Tee stuff: (ranked #655 in the world as of 3-9-12) 3-1-12; back to the arcade after 3 days off. MY Getaway pinball went to Pegasus Pizza (which means that) Pool Sharks pinball came back, Banzai Run is MIA, Flash isn't back yet. It's weird as there are fewer machines, and more construction...Okay; Banzai Run came back, and it was part of a big night; late Friday night 3-2-12--I stayed until 6:30 am. Current high score on Pool Sharks pinball is my 18 mil, NEW high score on Elvira pinball is my 16 mil, and current high on Radical pinball is my 11 mil, and the new #4 score on Banzai Run is my 7.2 mil (all under "ROX"). Elvira, Radical, and Banzai sit side-by-side, with ROX all over all 3. It was a nice tribute to Eric...3-3-12, Sat., I crashed Pegasus Pizza to play Getaway and Bride Of Pinbot pinball. Won games on both; and got a ball stuck on 'Bride'. So I told them I worked at Blairally, and had a key to the pinball machine/I would fix the stuck ball--and did! Go me! I also cleaned all 5 of our games there--because I am cool...3-4-12 Sunday; (while I lost my own poker tournament) supposedly a road trip was made up to Washington by GAK and CAB (my bosses) to bring back a TRON machine for the arcade. I will check on this today (Monday 3-5), and do a full report...Tron is a GO, and beautiful--plays great; very nice...3-7-12; I wiped/waxed the playfield of "Eight Ball" pinball, and will continue to learn how to clean other pinball machines better and faster...3-8-12, Thursday. 3 things; I beat Steven Weeks 2 out of 3 games of EBD, then while playing Mike I called the shot and then back-handed a double target Super Deluxe (on EBD), then I won the impromptu 4-player Flash Gordon tournament. Ha. I'm not even the best pinball player in the arcade, but they're all scared of me!..3-9-12 Friday night I wound up (stressed, almost a fight) at the arcade until 5 am, booo...Sat. 3-10-12 I found a Twilight Zone pinball at my neighborhood Izzy's (and drank half a bottle of their Tabasco), then went by Pegasus to clean games, before going to the arcade to score 52,000 on Pole position for the new 3-lap record (wheee), then stayed at the arcade through the time-change until 6 am (oops)...3-16-12 Friday; a small pinball tournament (13 people) at Blairally--I won it ($40), and (during the tournament) I now have the high score on Fish Tales pinball at 284 mil (on 2 balls), Also; the Pole Position is back to a 4-lap race (yay)...Saturday St Patty Day 3-17-12; somebody barely topped my 11 mil on Radical pinball, so I put up a 14 mil for the new high score...3-22-12; back at the arcade after 3 days off. The arcade is closed! Permits intact--construction has begun. But that is all trivial compared to this: Dr. Dude pinball is in-house! The new high score is my 11.9 mil. Thanks to Dylan for making it happen (3 of my 4 favorite pinball machines are nearby)...3-23-12; new Dr. Dude high score is my 15.4 mil...

Grammar: A college graduate on Facebook used the word "there" when he meant to use "they're"; now, seriously, how do you mess that up? A letter, AND an apostrophe; wow...

New foods this month: After an excellent Pizza Friday on 3-2-12; on Saturday, 3-3-12 I came up with the idea for iron-skillet fried buttery almond asparagus spears; (was it good?) my girlfriend called it 'fantastic'!..3-9-12; Pizza Friday was a total whole wheat crust. And; sliced olives (from a can) cuts my prep time down 10 minutes...Is wheat evil? Is wheat part of our overall health problems? Hmmm...No pizza on 3-16; I was hungover and lazy (we need a catalyst to get back to healthy)...3-23-12; limping in to Pizza Friday! Yum!..FYI: three great foods to improve sex and sex drive are celery sticks, almonds, and avocados. Now you know...While we're here (http://www.prevention.com/food/healthy-eating-tips/7-foods-should-never-cross-your-lips/5-farmed-salmon): Which grocery foods should you avoid FOREVER?
1. Canned Tomatoes
2. Corn-Fed Beef
3. Microwave Popcorn
4. Nonorganic Potatoes
5. Farmed Salmon
6. Milk Produced with Artificial Hormones
7. Conventional Apples
Not really a new food, but; "Green Tea Dragon Fruit Melon" is my new favorite tea...

This month of Blues Jamming: 3-1-12; (Mike came to the arcade, then we left for Blues jam together) set 1 (we missed) was Z-Bass, Ri + Ra guitars, JP, Jimmy D drums. 2 was Z-Bass, Chad + KK on guitars, Fiddler Bob (Happy Birthday Friday), Lenny P drums. 3 was Mike bass, Ra + Ro guitars, Mark the Harp, Greg drums, (our) Tim trumpets! Val sings! Good set! 4 was Z-Bass, Max + Jay guitars, JP, (Silver Dollar) Gary drums...3-8-12; I took notes, but lost them--I was way late after staying at the arcade so long. Oh well. Jerry Zybach played guitar 2nd set, and bass 3rd set, Ro + Ra on guitars, Scotty B on harp, and Lenny P on drums. 4th set was Z-Bass, Max + ? on guitar, Jimmy D drums...3-15-12; a NO Zane Blues Jam, wow. Missed the first set, but Axel was drumming set 2, with Ed + Ra on guitars, T-Mart on bass. Set 3 was T-Mart, Max + Chad guitars, JP on keys, Jimmy D drums. Axel sang 'Memphis'. 4 was T-Mart, Max + Ra + JP on 3 guitars, then JP on keys, Jimmy D drums and sings 3 songs...3-22-12; missed set 1. 2 was Mike bass, Ro + Ra guitars, JP keys, Lenny P drums, Tim trumpets. 3 was Z-Bass, Max + Ra guitars, JP, Gary drums. 4 was Z-Bass, Max + Ra guitars, JP, Lenny P drums. I spent $50, was NOT able to collect any money that was owed to me, AND I got kicked in the nuts by a hippie. Things are gonna change--I can feel it...Still a little sick on 3-29-12; I could have gone--but chose not to (things are already changing). April will be interesting...

My trials and trib.s as a critical believer in the concept of God: God is studying the Mayan calender again...

What's different here than in college town: Eugene is recycling candles now--that's a great idea!..GA is trying to pass the welfare drug-testing law. That might not be a bad idea...(6 DUI crashes here in 9 days) Creative drunks here; on 3-15, a driver crashed his drunk car into the Serenity Lane rehab facility (talk about cutting out the middleman)...

What's different here than dumbass Arizona: "A proposed law in Arizona could give employers the right to fire women who use birth control."...Different from BOTH; Oregon sends me election ballots in the mail. It's as if they are trying to GUILT me into voting--and it works!..In the last week of March, Lane County here (ours) was in a "Flood Warning". Not for any specific hard rainfall, mind you, but for the past 9 days of constant drizzle. It was, believe it or not, a LOT of rain--even for Oregon. Ha...

How Does Your Garden Grow? (Tales from our community garden plot): nothing yet.

Life with Static Girl: She will let me deal with my vehicle situation in any way that I deem necessary; she's GREAT!..On a recent adventure to Staples, she bought me 3 new purple pens, and some new post-its. Yay. Now maybe I can write something...As of 3-20-12, it will have been 1 year since I created the 'Cheri's Poker Winnings' envelope. In the past year, I have donated half of almost all my winnings to this envelope. Then pinball came back to my life in later 2011; so we also added pinball contest winnings. After a year, I have $600 extra--in the envelope. Nice!..On 3-23-12, she suggested that perhaps I should quit drinking. Hmmm...

My FCP has this for me: She says that I should not rush into getting another van just yet--if Gus dies then I should go with NO car for a little while. And that's a good idea, too...

Comments From The Peanut Gallery: 3-7-12: "Limbaugh threatened with lawsuit by supergroup RUSH." (BTW; Peter Gabriel also hates Limbaugh)...Pat Robertson wants to legalize marijuana!..Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne took no salary, no bonus, and no stock options in 2011 (nice move)...Trayvon Martin was shot in a gated community by George Zimmerman...California Slammed With Fukushima Radiation...SAT scam! Some teens are paying up to $3500 for other people to take the test for them (the joke that writes itself))...

A thought to take with you: "If you're going to get in trouble for hitting somebody, then you might as well hit them really hard."--a Facebook post that I like a lot!

My trials and trib.s as a critical believer in the concept of God: God is crying into his beer right now.

What's different here than in college town: Women as livestock bill in GA...Similar! A Springfield woman, Anne Marie Fleshman, was charged with 'unlawful use of a weapon' when she shot up her apartment during a domestic dispute with her man. Life with Static Girl: Aside from her rather poor taste in men (lucky me), she is an amazing creature...She got her annual review at her workplace, and they like her almost as much as I do!..Rarely does she appreciate a dumb Facebook quote, but she did like this one: "'Immature'; a word that boring people use to describe fun people."...She says I'm a drama queen, because I threw a screaming shit fit at our neighbor, and scared her half to death...My girlfriend is a can of black beans; relatively plain + quiet, but very effective. I am a can of dark red kidney beans; commanding far more attention than necessary...From Cornbread Cafe; she is a cheesey biscuit, I am a slice of jalapeno cornbread (okay, now, THIS is good)...

My FCP has this for me: Aside from her rather poor taste in men (lucky me), she is an amazing creature...New nickname for her; "Swiss Army Girl" (I like it)...

Comments From The Peanut Gallery: "Hanging By a Thread." Have you seen this Fukushima thing? There are 242 million working age Americans and 100 million of them are not working...Yahoo! announced they're laying off 2,000 employees...Where is Springfield? 'Simpsons' creator Matt Groening finally reveals inspiration in Oregon...The Fuel Pools Of Fukushima (#4): The Greatest Short-Term Threat To Humanity. Ever. (Continuing:) U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) went and examined Fukushima, and said it is far worse than reported...Nail polish is now poison; no, it's been poison all along.
