Familiar Lust

It takes more than just reality
As those "perspective gears" grind and twist
And that's the common man's fallacy:
You can't just check things off of a list.

Your wishes are like their own movie
With those passions, short-comings, and soul
Your attitude is its own journey
Never-ending in its drive or goal.

"Set targets" are a great decision
And an ordered outline is a must
But the best thing for your ambition?
A burned image of familiar lust.

Fantasy is a motivation
Like lost loves and missed chances refuel
An intangible dedication
In turning desire into a tool.

As "longings" tend to bend, but not break
With their impressions leading the way
There must be some previous mistake
You need to compensate for today.
